Creating a Working Closet Series

I wish I could take credit for this, but unfortunately, someone much more organized than me has begun a weekly series about creating a working closet. In her words,

A working closet is one in which you can remix what you own into infinite cute outfits. A closet that doesn't scream "go shopping now!" at you every time you walk in. One that knows when a new piece is needed and when it's time to let an old one go.

In other words ... organization. So that people like me, with seemingly infinite supplies of clothes, can stop standing in front of our closets frustrated thinking OMG, I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR. Because how lame is that? Anyway, the series is awesome and you should read it:

I can't wait to see the rest of the series!

Inspiration Post: Green

I am hanging out in San Francisco visiting my boyfriend, who is off at work. Boredom, coupled with the rain and cold weather outside, means it's time for another wonderful Inspiration post! To see more images like these, follow my tumblr - http://omglia.tumblr.com.

Note: If one of these pictures belongs to you and you would like credit and/or a link to go along with it - or are requesting its removal, please don't hesitate to ask! I'm happy to comply, and thank you for the inspiration. Similarly, if you are looking for the source of a picture, just ask, and I will try to remember!

Styleta!

I've been volunteering in a variety of roles with Styleta.org, nonprofit network of college students who collect donations of designer fashion to sell online in order to raise funding for women's initiatives. Primarily I do makeup for photo shoots and runway show (pics of that to come!) and sometimes I assist with styling or creative directing or event planning or whatever else that needs to be done. It's a lot of fun and it's great to help out knowing that my work goes to benefit charity! Last week we did a runway show. It went great - aside from a thick layer of glitter on the stage causing models to slip and slide in their heels 5 feet up in the air, (rage, rage, RAGE) but we don't talk about that. Instead, we'll show you this awesome video made of the show. There was a DJ and a cool hip hop artist (DJ Whizz Kid and Ryan Mcdaniels, respectively) plus fashions by Pitaya and Dope Couture. Enjoy!

Shoes that I need in my life

I love Jeffrey Campbell. Its a love from afar, though, because I can't afford anything :( but I pine for JC shoes constantly. I have already talked about the Mary Roks wedges - though I just found out they are for sale at Urban Outfitters! I think I like gray best, but these two are growing on me:

UO also has my other two Jeffrey Campbell loves, the Jeffrey Campbell Suede Lace Up Wedge:

and I just saw these and fell in love:

GAH
oh and also these.

Christmas, anyone?
